Taufers Castle
Built in the 1220’s, by a noble-free family named Taufers. This powerful castle is a dynastic seat of the Barons of Taufers. In the 15th and 16th centuries the grounds were renovated into an expansive castle residence, most of them built in the early 16th century.

Sand in Taufers is a comune in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about 70 kilometres of Bolzano.
The town centre is situated in the valley of the Ahr river, stretching from Bruneck up northwards to the Venediger Group mountains and the border with Austria.

Hohenwerfen Castle stands high above the Austrian town of Werfen, approximately 40 kilometers south of Salzburg. The castle is surrounded by the Berchtesgaden Alps and the adjacent Tennengebirge mountain range. The fortification is a "sister" of Hohensalzburg Castle both dated from the 11th century. The historic Falconry Centre is a special attraction, offering daily flight demonstrations using various birds of prey, including eagles, falcons, hawks, and vultures.
